Butano State Park to Long Ridge OSP

Three weeks prior to the 2001 Western States 100 Mile Run, a group of six DURT runners set out on a point-to-point adventure.  Our team for the day was comprised of Sophia, Lisa, Steve, Eric, Susan, and Doug.

Beginning our run with Jon Easterbrook and the Palo Alto Run Club monthly trail run, we started from the entrance gate of Butano State Park in Pescadero, CA. Our objective was to start with the PARC'ers (for the sake of being sociable) and then break off at the high point of Butano and continue west through Portola State Park and then up into Long Ridge, finishing 1.4 miles north of Saratoga Gap on Skyline Blvd.   And that's what we did!
